Bob Woodruff Park in Plano TX

People from all over North Texas visit Bob Woodruff Park to run, bike, fish, or just enjoy a sunny lunch on a park bench. The winding 1-mile trail loops through the woods and is well used, but not crowded. For the most part, it’s easy to follow and in good condition. I’ve biked this trail many times and it never gets old. The views are always different, depending on the time of year and how recently they’ve mowed (which is often). Many alligators can be spotted along the waterway.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Bob Woodruff Park in Plano TX is one of the best places to escape the hustle and bustle of life. It’s also conveniently located near downtown Plano, just off US-75. Besides the nature trail, there are recreation fields, picnic areas, lots of parking space, and restrooms available.

You can visit with your family, friends, or even by yourself. Come to walk the trails, fly a kite, have a picnic lunch, play some games on the playgrounds, or just relax and watch people fish at Ray Hubbard lake.

The hiking trails are great for an afternoon stroll or a morning run before work. While walking on these trails you may encounter people riding their bikes or horses on the trails. There are also small little streams that seem to lead out to Lake Ray Hubbard. Even though this is not a lake you can swim in, it’s still enjoyable to walk through the water and look at all of the natural rocks that are scattered around.

The best part about Bob Woodruff Park is that dogs are allowed! This is the perfect place to take your dog if you are wanting for them to get some exercise. Also, I believe that there are no playgrounds at this park, but after walking through the trails and streams it may be a good idea to end your day at Bob Woodruff Park with an ice cream cone!
